As I write in this space, filling blank white screens with letters and words, and then sentences and paragraphs, I have no greater desire than to point you toward your Savior.

My heart delights in lingering long with Him.

In pondering.

In being still before God, soaking up His presence like it’s the one thing I need more than anything else.

Because it is.

Drawing near to Him in that one-on-one way that feels like the best kind of friendship is possibly the greatest joy known on earth. But at some point we must leave our prayer closets and engage with the people and tasks and opportunities He has given us.

That’s why we’re still here, after all.

And that’s why it’s so important to develop an ongoing awareness of His presence – constantly and consciously.

I’ve found social media to be an excellent aid in developing that awareness. It may seem ironic, because social media can be the conduit of so much negativity, perversion, and…well, junk.

Nevertheless, many of us spend time there multiple times per week. And you can make that time worthwhile.

You can make it worthwhile by contributing grace and truth and love on your personal page and in your interactions with others.

You can make it worthwhile by turning the complaints and the news updates into opportunities for prayer.

And you can make it worthwhile by choosing well what shows up in your feed. A great way to do that is to “like” pages that share God’s truth on a regular basis.

But wait, that’s not enough! Because Facebook won’t include pages in your newsfeed if you don’t “like,” comment, or share the posts you see. The more you interact with the posts from a page, the stronger the likelihood that the page’s posts will appear in your newsfeed.

I’d like to share with you some Facebook pages that encourage me in my faith. But before you look at the list, here’s a  shameless plug: if you haven’t yet “liked” A Divine Encounter on Facebook, now’s your chance!

To the best of my knowledge, the pages listed below are in general agreement with what I believe. I have not examined every post on every page – that would be an impossible task! Please let me know if you see something that is not in alignment with what the Bible teaches.

I made every attempt to include pages that post Christian content regularly. This is by no means a comprehensive list! If you would like to nominate a page to be added to this list, please leave me a comment below.

Hey thanks for the post. I am Christian speaker and a wildlife photographer and wanted to let you know about my Christian FB page. It has almost 800,000 likes. Every day I post a passage from God’s word with a photo I have taken of His creation. I also post my blog posts there. The page is called “God’s Art by Photographer Pasquale Mingarelli.”

    Thanks! God Bless!

You’re quite welcome, Gail! It’s my pleasure. I’m glad we’re co-laborers on this journey, striving together for the sake of the gospel. And I’m a fan of Trust in the Lord, too! Perhaps I started following them after I wrote this post. I will add them – thank you for the nudge in that direction!

Thank you so much for your list. Its a treasure. I’ve already explored several.

I invite you to have a look at my own site, from Canada (Anglican Church), in the site field you provided. I don’t know how often you update your list, but I would be proud to be listed.

Its a bit of a quirky “anti-economics” blog pointing out how economics is profoundly unChristian. Don’t have much discussion going on it yet, since I haven’t done much promotion. In just having too much fun writing it at this point.

    Thanks for your consideration, Gary

    Good Morning,

I’m so grateful I stumbled upon this list. Whatt a wonderful resource. If ever you feel nudged to create a category pertaining to grief and recovery by way of the saving grace of Jesus Chrrist, i would love to be added to your list, justdotoday.org. As well, I could suggest others bloggers for this category and certainly, there is a great need for hope and healing after loss.

Thank you again for providing such a wonderful resource.

Love this list and how we can use social media for the glory of God. Thank you. I’m looking forward to exploring the list more fully. I have a facebook support group (brand new), “Living Loved in Christ”, for Christian ladies who need to focus on the love of God. The purpose of the group is for encouragement, support, and friendship. It is specifically designed for women who feel rejected, alone, disconnected, unloved, etc.

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/livinglovedinchrist

“We are a group of Christian ladies who desire encouragement, support, and friendship. We focus on the love of God which brings healing and hope to our hearts. This group is ideal for those who struggle with feeling alone, rejected, unloved, unwanted, etc. God can bring healing to every pain of the heart. Some of us may struggle with anxiety, depression, and other related issues. Together we can more fully experience the love of God and share the overflow of His love with each other in a safe online environment. We would love to have you join our group.”

If you know of anyone who would be helped by this group or want to add it to your list, feel free. I started this group because of how God is healing some of the deepest hurts of my heart. It has been life changing for me and I don’t want other women to suffer alone like I did for many years, feeling disconnected and unimportant to God and others. It all starts with the love of God and experiencing His goodness!

Hi Jennifer. I like a lot of these pages too. This is great, much better than using the Facebook search box, I’ve been looking for other Christian pages to mingle with. You might like my page, A Solitary Place Online. I started my page in 2009 to remind and inspire people to pray. I spend a lot of time on Facebook blessing and encouraging others, and it definitely encourages me in my faith.
