If you’ve been a Christian for a considerable length of time, there are probably many Scripture passages that are familiar to you.

You know them inside and out. You could probably even recite them in your sleep.

There’s something precious about that, isn’t there?

Like dear, trusted friends, those verses are tucked close to your heart, ready to comfort you in a time of sorrow.

To guide you in a time of uncertainty.

To convict you in a time of wandering from your Father.

On the other hand, the familiarity of certain passages also means that we sometimes take them for granted. We consider their words casually instead of carefully, assuming that we already know everything there is to know about them.

And oh, how much we miss in so doing!

In today’s featured post, Amy teaches us by her own example how to ponder anew familiar passages, plunging to ever-greater depths of meaning and application in the living Word of God.

Amy, thank you for being one who cherishes Scripture, finding it worth pondering. Your words have encouraged us to dig beneath the surface of the passages we know so well, finding hope afresh in the words of God. Feel free to grab this “I’ve Been Featured” button for your blog as our way of saying, “Thank you.”
