Have you ever noticed how busy we are today?

Thanks to my daughter’s affinity for Little House on the Prairie reruns, I was recently pondering the vast differences between life today versus one hundred fifty years ago.

They didn’t have technology. Or automobiles. Or electricity.

In many ways, life today is so much easier.

Easier, yes.

Simpler?

I don’t think so.

Because our modern conveniences have come at a cost. More work accomplished in less time means we can keep filling and filling and filling the hours with task after task after task.

Time and energy that was once spent on simple survival is now allocated toward a myriad of opportunities – in our careers, our ministries, our families, our leisure, and more.

With so many choices about how we spend the 24 hours we’re given each day, it’s critically important that we choose well.

Because every single moment is a gift – not of our own merit, but by the grace of God.

And He expects us to steward them with care.

In today’s featured post, Marva encourages us to beware of a common trap in today’s culture. If you’re active on Facebook, chances are you’ve noticed how quickly time can fly when you’re immersed in your newsfeed.

(And if you’re not on Facebook, the same principles apply to any activity you enjoy.)

I would encourage you to hop over to her site and read her insightful perspective.

Jennifer, I’m so humbled that you chose to feature the post I wrote about Facebook. I wrote that from a very broken place where I felt as if my priorities were all in the wrong place and my heart was in need of a change. My prayer now is that others will be encouraged and find hope when they read my story. Thank you for shining the spotlight!
