I’ve been kind of quiet since the election.

It takes me a while to process things sometimes, and well, this was a rather big thing to work through.

But one gleaming lesson has already emerged from the sand and ash, and I’m happy to share it with you today:

Disagreement doesn’t bring division. Dogma does. 

Two people can have a difference of opinion and get along just fine, even though they disagree.

Division happens when someone holds to the idea that her opinion is the only right opinion, and that all differing opinions are wrong.

I’m still pondering what this means for you and me in real life so I look forward to sharing more later.
