The Bible teaches us time and time again that our God is one of compassion.

He is not without care and concern for each one of us, and that care and concern works itself out in innumerable acts of kindness on our behalf. Can you count the ways He has extended mercy to you? Can you measure the gifts of grace He has given?

His mercy and grace, and even His justice and discipline, spring from a deep sense of compassion for people.

In today’s featured post, Christin from Garments of Splendor offers a vivid illustration of God’s compassion for you, His child.

Even better, she encourages us to follow in His footsteps, refusing to allow our feelings of tenderness and sympathy for those in need to stop short of taking action on their behalf.

Just as our Savior did.

And just as He still does.

Visit Christin’s post and be awed afresh by God’s love for you, and by His calling on your life to extend the same love to others.
