It’s about this time of year when I start to mourn the end of summer.
And perhaps a little more so right now, since this not-so-fun fact was brought to my attention:
That’s how many summers I likely have left with each of my kids before they leave my little nest.
I have to admit, those numbers do spark a flame of inspiration that pushes me toward stewarding my time well.
It’s not limitless, after all.
But those numbers also spark a different kind of flame. If I dwell on those numbers too much, I can start to feel a lot of pressure, in an almost frantic kind of way that I’m pretty sure is not from God.
It turns out that I’m not alone. In today’s featured post, Lois Flowers shares a refreshing perspective from a mom whose kids are now young adults.
And fortunately for me, it turns out that my summers with my kids probably aren’t as limited as I thought.
Not only that, but there’s every reason to believe that my best parenting days are still to come.
If you need this word of encouragement – replacing pressure with grace – or you know someone else who does, click here to hop over to Lois’s blog to read her post.
Lois, thank you for sharing this refreshing perspective, and for using your gift of writing to encourage moms. Feel free to grab this “I’ve Been Featured” button for your blog as our way of saying, “Thank you.”
