I’ll never be that Pinterest perfect mom with the Facebook fantastic life.
I’ll never be the always-with-it woman sitting a little further down the church pew.
I’ll never be the hip mom next door or the superwoman who seems to do it all with minimal effort and maximum style.
I’ll never be my favorite Bible study teacher who stands firm and free from stumbling.
But I will be the mom You want me to be.
I will be the mom You created me to be.
I will be the mom You saw in me before the foundation of the world.
I will be the mom divine power enables me to be.
Not because I’m spectacular.
But because You are.
And because You’re my Father.
Awww! Jennifer, this is beautiful! What great encouragement! Such a joy to visit with you today! Peace and many blessings to you, Love! 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by, Tai! I’m glad these short thoughts encouraged you. 🙂
Thank you for sharing this beautiful post! I think a LOT of moms look at the internet, which is where we all share our BEST ONLY and they compare their every-day to that and feel they are lacking. I think it’s great to strive to be better in all things, and seeing all the amazing work people do can be inspiring, but this is such an important reminder that we shouldn’t be comparing ourselves to someone else at their best. Actually, we shouldn’t be comparing at all! 🙂 Thank you!
You’re exactly right, Sandra. I once heard it said that we shouldn’t compare our beginning with someone else’s middle, our weakness to someone else’s strength, or our worst with someone else’s best. If only we could fully absorb this truth!
