It’s Day 18! The end of the challenge is just around the corner. You’re doing a fabulous job, and I want to whisper an important truth to you today.
Luke 11:1 says: “Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.'”
Do you see here how important prayer is? Jesus’ disciples knew He was a Man of prayer, so they implored Him to teach them to pray. As you pray the Scriptures, friend, you are both praying and learning to pray. It’s a skill worth learning, isn’t it? Oh yes, it’s well worth this investment you’re making.
I also want to point out that Jesus’ disciples saw the importance of prayer because they saw Jesus praying. Who is seeing you pray? What person within your realm of influence knows you are a person of prayer? You never know how your example will influence the people God has placed in your life.
We still have a few days to go, so don’t stop now! Here’s the passage for Day 18:
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Romans 12:1-2
Heavenly Father, in Your great mercy please strengthen me to present my body back to You as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You, which is my spiritual, day-by-day worship. May I not be conformed to this world, but instead be transformed by the renewal of my mind as I saturate myself with Your Word. In doing this, I claim the truth that I will be able to discern and to obey Your good, acceptable, and perfect will. In the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
