Hi there!

I am so humbled and grateful that you would stop by and spend some time here.

It’s possible that you want to know a little bit about me.

The most important thing you should know is that I am a born-again Christian. But beyond that, I’m a Christ-follower — or I try to be, as His grace keeps working to conform my stubborn heart to His. Which can be a slow process, and sometimes a painful one. But always worth it.

Forgive me; I digress…

I’m Jennifer Clarke, a Virginia girl, born and bred. I’m someone’s wife and best friend. I’m “Mama” to three smaller someones. I’m a foster mom, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a niece, a granddaughter. I am a church member. Some call me “friend.” Some have called me teacher. Many know I’m a reader. Some know I’m very expressive – often with tears – and that music and writing are my two favorite forms of expression. I can’t really help it. They’re part of who I am.

Jennifer Clarke is an author and blogger at A Divine Encounter. Learn more about her here.

I’m all those things…and more. But in the end, it all comes back to the beginning. Because what I really am is a sinner through and through. And left to my own devices, it would be an utterly hopeless state for me. But thanks to the amazing sacrifice of an ever-pursuing, always-faithful God who loves me and wants to be with me, all that really matters is this: I AM HIS. And I’m learning more and more that this is so much more than enough.

If you’re curious about this God who wants to be with you, I welcome you in this space and I invite you to find out how to have your very first encounter with God.

If you know Him already, and you want to know Him more intimately, I invite you to journey with me. Let’s together build a faith that’s meant for all the ups and downs of real life.

I welcome your contact with me. Please leave a comment below or email me at jenniferclarkewriter@gmail.com. You can also find me on the following social media networks:

Thank you so much! I praise God that any Scripture we hide in our hearts can be used by the Holy Spirit! “Sanctify them by Your truth; Your Word is truth.” (John 17:17) I’m so glad you stopped by. 🙂

I just read your article, The Importance of self control for Christians. God is good! I had just spoke to God stating “That is what I have to get under control”. You see I just ate an organic dark chocolate bar and became very full and regretting it. At that moment I came across your article. It was an eye opener. Thank you for sharing your testimony. I was reading my life experience verbatim. I know God has a plan for me to help heal his people.

Blessings to you and your family.

I’m so glad that post was a blessing to you. God is still working on my heart about self-control, but I’m excited to see the progress He is making as I’m trying to yield my desires to Him every day. He gives us good things to enjoy, but that enjoyment can easily become an obsession when we indulge too much and too often. May God bless you and strengthen your spirit as you follow hard after Him!

    Hi Jennifer,
You have a great blog and great pins and I’m glad to have you on the BibleLoveNotes group board.

But I have a question for you: how do you create your Pinterest images so your blog name and the title of the pin is always below it?

    Thanks, Gail (Bible Love Notes)

Hi, Gail! Thanks so much for your kind words. I’m grateful to you for allowing me to be part of your group board.

Regarding your Pinterest question, I think you’re referring to “rich pins.” I was intimidated by the rich pin application process (because I heard from other bloggers that it required some coding — which is NOT my strong suit!), so I was thankful to find an easier way online. I believe this is the method I used: http://iheartsocialmedia.com/2013/04/the-easy-way-to-get-rich-pins-for-pinterest/

I already had the Yoast plugin, so this method was very simple for me. If it doesn’t work for you, I would imagine there are other methods online that could be located with a Google search for rich pins.

I hope this is helpful! Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. I’m far from an expert, but I’m happy to share what little I do know. 🙂 Thanks for getting in touch!

Hello, Dot! I’m sorry you’re having difficulty. The process typically works like this: Enter your email address in the box labeled “Don’t miss a post!” on the left-hand side of the page. After clicking “subscribe,” you’ll go to a page where you need to enter the letters/numbers that you see. You should then receive an email instructing you to verify your request by clicking the link provided.

At which point in the process are you having difficulty? It’s a tremendous honor to me when someone subscribes to the blog, and I’m sorry you’re having a problem.

Hello, my friend! So nice to hear from you! No, I’m not from GA; but I’m in VA, not too terribly far away. 🙂 The Google Adsense ads on my site are typically based on recent internet activity of the person viewing the site, so I’m sure that’s why you’re seeing an ad from Braselton. I pray God’s continued blessings on your writing, and on your other aspects of ministry!
