“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”
James 3:17
Heavenly Father, one of my greatest needs in life is wisdom. Thank You for promising that if I ask for wisdom, You will grant it generously and without reproach. (James 1:5) I acknowledge, Lord, that wisdom that comes from You is, first and foremost, pure. So it makes no sense to ask for Your wisdom that’s marked by purity while I continue to harbor desires and motives that fall short of that standard. Oh, Lord, refine my heart and grant me Your wisdom that is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. In the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
