“What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,
‘I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
Therefore go out from their midst,
and be separate from them, says the Lord,
and touch no unclean thing;
then I will welcome you,
and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty.’
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.”
2 Corinthians 6:16-18; 7:1
Lord Almighty, I agree with Your truth that I am Your temple. Considering that You have made Your dwelling among me and that You walk among me; that You are my God, and that I am one of Your people…Father, I’m speechless. With such great and precious promises already fulfilled on my behalf, why should I still settle for the mudpies offered by the world? Help me, Lord, to cleanse myself from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. In the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
Oh, friend, I wish I could give you a big, hearty hug right now! Since the internet hasn’t (yet!) made such a thing possible, please hear and receive my most sincere “Congratulations!” Many have begun the challenge, but few have completed it. I praise the Lord for His grace and strength that have sustained you in prayer these last few weeks.
So you just finished a 21-day prayer challenge, which means you’ve established a pretty great habit of spending at least a few minutes of concentrated prayer time each day.
I really, really don’t want to see that habit fall by the wayside. And I’m guessing you don’t, either.
