Hey, prayer partner! Just a quick note of encouragement: you’re doing awesome. Prayer is hard work. Have you ever thought about that before? It requires an investment of your time. Your energy. Your effort. But guess what? It’s not a labor without reward. So press on, friend!
Here’s today’s Scripture:
“Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”
Romans 13:11-14
Dear Heavenly Father, You are teaching me to be aware that time on earth is fleeting, and that alertness is required. There are so many things that threaten to lure me into apathy, into being a “sleepy” and complacent Christian instead of a vigilant one. I’m in awe that I can “put on the Lord Jesus Christ,” because of His sacrifice on the cross for me. Help me to do just that, making no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. In the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
