“Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”
2 Timothy 2:20-22
Dear Heavenly Father, I long to be useful to You. I acknowledge that You’ve put me on earth at this particular place during this particular time for a purpose. I pray, Lord, for Your cleansing, that I would flee from dishonorable things, running far away from anything that would keep me from being set apart as holy, useful to You, and ready for every good work. When temptation comes, God, help me to flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with my Christian brothers and sisters who call on Your name from a pure heart. Guide me in developing relationships with other believers so we can be a mutual encouragement to each other as we live for You. In the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
