Hi there! So I know you signed up for a 5-day prayer challenge (that you happened to ROCK, by the way šš¼), but I just couldn’t let you go without praying through one more topic with you.
So here’s your BONUS day in the Drawing Close to God in Prayer Challenge.
Still with me? Let’s go!
Spiritual Victory
Think about these things with me for just a moment:
Broken resolutions. Spiritual strongholds. Bad habits.
Toxic relationships. Painful memories. Crippling fear.
Past sins.
Stifling bitterness.
Each one of these can present an obstacle to your closeness with God. Does one of them pierce your heart a little (or maybe a lot) deeper than the others?
Here’s the pressing question: Is it possible to be free from these weights and walk in victory?
If youāre a Christ-follower, based on the authority of Godās Word, the answer is a resounding “YES!”
Ponder these Scriptures before the Lord, and offer them as prayers to Him. Christ died to free you from sinās penalty in eternity, and from its power right now. Having already given His life for your freedom, Heāll not deny you the grace you need to be victorious!
Prayers for Spiritual Victory
- Claim the promise that the Lord your God is the One who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to save you and give you victory. (Deuteronomy 20:4)
- Confess to the Lord that those who endure temptation are blessed, for when they have passed the test they will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love Him. Pray that He would give you a steadfast spirit that will endure during times of trial. (James 1:12)
- Exult in Godās promise that whoever is born of Him overcomes the world. Ponder the truth that your faith is the victory that has overcome the world, and ask the Lord to strengthen your faith. (1 John 5:4)
- Pray that you wouldnāt rely on your own power, but would be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Commit to God that you will put on His whole armor each day, that you may be able to stand firm against the wiles of the devil. Acknowledge that you donāt wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ask for grace to withstand evil attacks, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:10-13)
- Rejoice in Godās provision which allows you to proclaim, “Death, where is your victory? Hades, where is your sting?” Praise Him for the victory over sin and death, made available through our Lord Jesus Christ. Ask for His grace to help you be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lordās work, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:55-58)
- Ask that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward you who believe, according to that working of the strength of His might that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and made Him to sit at His right hand in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:17-20) Marvel at the truth that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is now within you. Ask God to show you how to apply that power to secure victory in your life.
Dear Heavenly Father, how I thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, which secured victory for me and for all of Your children. Thank You for our eternal victory over death, and for our current victory over sin. Please grant me a deeper understanding of Your power on my behalf, that I may steward it well, applying it and walking in victory. Itās in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, that I pray. Amen.
Hooray! You did it!
Oh, friend, I wish I could give you a big, hearty hug right now! Since the internet hasn’t (yet!) made such a thing possible, please hear and receive my most sincere “Congratulations!” Many have begun the challenge, but few have completed it. I praise the Lord for His grace and strength that have sustained you in prayer these last several days.
So you just finished a 5-well-actually-6-day prayer challenge š, which means you’ve established a pretty great habit of spending at least a few minutes of concentrated prayer time each day.
I really, really donāt want to see that habit fall by the wayside. And Iām guessing you donāt, either. If that’s the case, click here if youād like to visit my shop and check out other resources designed to enhance your walk with God.
I want you to know that Iāve cherished this season with you. If this prayer challenge has been meaningful for you, would you consider sharing it with a friend or loved one who might benefit from it, too? You can do that from the main page for the Drawing Close Prayer Challenge. It would mean so much to me!
May the Lord continue and bring to completion the good work He has begun in your life.
